Apply to PRESEnt a Breakout Session

We are accepting applications to present one of six afternoon breakout sessions featuring engaging, learning‑focused content. We are seeking a wide range of topics that support collaboration, reflection, and knowledge‑sharing in nonprofit data practice.

We encourage proposals from nonprofit practitioners, data professionals, researchers, consultants, and community partners. Sessions do not need to be formal or highly technical—practical insights, lessons learned, and facilitated discussions are preferred.

Applications will be accepted until June 1, with the program announced in late June.

Additionally, this year we’re introducing an Initiative Walk as a new way for attendees to learn about and engage with projects happening across the sector. This format centers on a poster-style submission that will be displayed in a shared hall space, allowing attendees to explore initiatives at their own pace. Selected presenters will have space to display a poster highlighting their work, along with access to a shared table for additional collateral or materials. Attendees will be encouraged to circulate, review posters, and connect directly with project teams to learn more. This format is especially well suited for larger, cross‑sector initiatives looking to increase visibility and share their work in an informal, interactive setting. Additional details regarding poster size, layout, and information requirements will be provided to those selected. If you’re interested in participating in the Initiative Walk, please submit a breakout session application below.

Possible topics include:

  • Impact measurement

  • AI use and policy

  • Data visualization

  • Ethical data practices

  • Or propose your own!

Format options:

  • Case Study / Organizational Story (30-60 mins)

  • Applied Research Presentation (30-60 mins)

  • Skills / Tools Workshop (30-60 mins)

  • Panel Discussion (Multiple speakers, 1 hour)

  • Lightning Talk (~15mins)

We are welcoming proposals across a range of formats and topics. To apply, simply submit your idea—our team will work to schedule sessions in a way that best fits the overall program and the mix of proposals we receive.

When you apply, you’ll be able to indicate your preferred session format and timing. While we can’t guarantee specific lengths, we’ll do our best to accommodate the amount of time you request based on available slots and program balance.

Breakout sessions will be thoughtfully curated. We’re particularly interested in workshops and case studies, and we may also assemble panels or lightning talks by bringing together multiple presenters around shared themes or complementary perspectives.

Selection will depend on the range of applications we receive, with the goal of sharing as much practical, useful information as possible within a limited number of sessions and time slots. We appreciate your flexibility as we pilot this format and look forward to learning alongside you.
