This session presents Year One of the AI Lab for B3 Cohorts, a three-year LogicalOutcomes initiative supporting 10 Black-serving, Black-led, and Black-focused (B3) organizations across Ontario to co-design AI tools and training that reflect their realities. Drawing on the Lab’s first six months, the session will explore how participating organizations reshaped the curriculum, challenged assumptions about AI literacy, and surfaced what culturally responsive AI capacity building requires in practice. Nonprofit data practitioners, funders, and intermediaries will leave with a working model, candid lessons learned, and critical questions about who shapes AI tools, whose needs they serve, and how progress should be measured.
