Building Data Capacity Across Communities: Data Insights to Actionable Strategies 

This session explores how nonprofit and community organizations can move beyond collecting data for compliance and toward  humanizing data as a tool for equity, learning, and sector-wide action. Drawing on examples from Services and Housing in the Province (SHIP) and Volunteer Toronto, presenters will share practical approaches to assessing organizational readiness, building organizational data culture, collecting and interpreting social identity and volunteerism data, and translating insights into more responsive programs, services, and engagement strategies. Participants will leave with case studies, dashboard examples, and a clearer understanding of how community-generated human-centric data can help organizations identify gaps, tell stronger stories, and drive meaningful change.
